Awards Season starts in full force tonight with the
. I’ve seen a few of the films and performances nominated which makes me more excited to see who wins. I saw
yesterday with Saoirse Ronan and absolutely loved the sweet coming of age immigrant story set in Brooklyn and Ireland.
is a bit of a fantasy bio-pic by director David O. Russell who assembled his usual cast of characters including Jennifer Lawrence as Joy Mangano, the creator if the Wonder Mop. I saw it on Christmas Day and left inspired and motivated.
I saw in early December and unfortunately did not love it. I realized that even though it’s a compelling story, I just didn’t connect with the characters. The costumes are lovely though and Cate Blanchett looks gorgeous through out.
staring Leonardo DiCaprio is getting rave reviews but I’m not sure I have the stomach for all the uncomfortable gore. I would like to see and but maybe not .
